How do you memorize multiplication facts?
Multiplication facts are memorized with daily practice. Practice timed and untimed math drills with flashcards and multiplication tables. Your child can begin gradually, memorizing some of the simple count bys’ with 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s and progress to more advanced numbers. You can show students the commutative property of multiplication so once they have memorized 2 x 7 they have also memorized 7 x 2. This builds confidence as they progress to facts that can be more difficult to learn. The daily use of flashcards and multiplication tables will reinforce the facts that they have already learned and help them progress.
