What are division factors?
Learning division factors can help students solve division problems while illustrating the relationship between division and multiplication. A factor is any number that can divide evenly into another number. For example, in the division problem 10 ÷ 2 = 5, 10 has factors of 1, 2, 5, and 10. These factors can all be separated into equal groups such as 2 groups of 5 or 5 groups of 2 or 1 group of 10 or 10 groups of 1 which is the same as 2 x 5, 5 x 2 = 10 and 1 x 10, 10 x 1 = 10.
