When you work with your preschool student to teach them early learning concepts, remember to keep your sessions short.  Practice regularly and give your child lots of positive encouragement.  Make learning sessions more fun by playing games with your child.  After practicing with color flash cards, have them go on a scavenger hunt for objects that are a certain color or for items that begin with a specific letter.  Ask your child to practice flash cards on you and have them become the teacher for the cards they have mastered.  When children can engage in a visual, auditory, and tactile way they are using a multi-sensory approach and will be more likely to remember the concepts they are learning.
