How to read words for kindergarten?

It is important to see words in print to reinforce “reading”. Label items throughout the room in colored markers (i.e., written on a paper/ taped to the item) and/or display pictures of items/actions/short sentences with the words written underneath. Add an arrow under the letters pointing to the right as a cue for children to read from left to right. Children should have many opportunities to use the words in conversation (speaking and listening) and to identify the words in assorted text and “read” them (either by sight or through phonics) with the guidance and instruction of a patient adult.
