What are the best rhyming words?

The best rhyming words are the ones that your child begins to master and understand!  Practice rhyming with your child in short sessions throughout your day together.  Show your child a flash card with a word and practice finding other words that rhyme.  Using flash cards, show your child how words that rhyme can also be spelled differently.  For example, the word pie rhymes with sigh.  This is an important concept to practice as your child progresses towards phonic and reading fluency. When reviewing the flash cards, work with your child on how to spell the different rhyming words. Practice working with one to two different words each day and remember to go back and review words your child has already mastered.
